At Refined K-9 Mobile Dog Grooming Services, we believe in humanity over vanity. Our commitment is to ensure your pet’s grooming experience is as safe and as pleasant as possible, prioritising their well-being above all else.
Please toilet your dog before the appointment to avoid any additional cleaning fees.
Please reschedule your dog’s appointment if they are unwell, such as with diarrhea or vomiting.
Your pet is very important to us. We assure you that every effort will be made to make your pet’s grooming experience stress-free and enjoyable. Safety comes first for everyone involved in the grooming process—your pets and our groomers. All pets must wear a harness or collar with a lead for collection.
If the owner is not present at the property at the time of the grooming service (beginning or end), it is the owner’s responsibility to arrange a safe place for us to pick up or leave the pet.
Your satisfaction is crucial to us. If you are unhappy for any reason and would like adjustments, we will gladly make them at the end of the appointment at the time of drop-off. However, once we leave your home for the next appointment, any return visits will be treated as a new appointment, and the owner may be charged a grooming fee depending on the extent of the adjustment.
Grooming can occasionally expose or aggravate hidden or existing medical conditions. This can occur during or after grooming. All medical expenses for veterinary care resulting from these issues will be covered by the pet’s owners upon reading and understanding this form and its policies.
It is the owner’s responsibility to inform us of any medical conditions or behavioral issues before booking. As grooming can be stressful for some pets, it is essential to disclose any heart problems or stress-related issues beforehand.
Muzzling, which is used only when necessary, protects both your pet and the groomer. It can calm a stressed pet, allowing the grooming process to continue. We use muzzling as a last resort. If your pet behaves aggressively or becomes too dangerous, we reserve the right to refuse, stop, or cancel grooming services, and the client will be charged for the work done up to that point.
We encourage pets to be up-to-date with vaccinations before booking. New puppy clients must be up-to-date on all vaccinations, with grooming starting two weeks after the second vaccination.
We carefully select the best products for your pet’s skin and coat condition, but reactions can still occur. If your pet has a reaction to a grooming product, please inform us within 24 hours of the grooming service. All medical expenses for veterinary care due to the reaction will be covered by the animal’s owner upon reading this form and its policies.
While accidents are rare, there is always a risk when working with pets. Grooming equipment is sharp, and despite our utmost caution and care, possible issues such as cuts, nicks, scratches, or nail quickening can occur, especially if a pet is wriggling or moving around. Your pet’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. If an accident occurs, we will attempt to notify the owner immediately. If it is serious and the owner is not on-site, we will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet.
This release authorises us to seek medical treatment from the nearest veterinarian in the case of any medical emergencies while in our care. All veterinary costs and expenses will be the responsibility of the pet’s owner.
For the safety of the pet and the groomer, please do not interrupt the grooming process. If you need to check on your pet, please refrain from talking to them or allowing them to see you. Stay away from the mobile unit until the groom is completed or text us. An excited pet can be dangerous to work on. If you insist on interacting with your pet or the groomer, we reserve the right to end the grooming process, even if it is not completed, and the full grooming price will be charged.
We strive to maintain a parasite-free mobile van. If your pet has any parasites, we recommend that you take them to a veterinarian or ensure they are up-to-date with flea/worm treatments before grooming.
If your pet’s coat contains fleas at any stage of the groom, we will bath your pup in a flea shampoo. The owner must ensure their pet is free from fleas and lice. Bringing a flea or lice infestation into the mobile van risks contamination, requiring fumigation to prevent further issues. An additional charge for treatment and fumigation will apply, depending on the severity of the infestation.
Pets with matted coats require extra attention. Mats in a pet’s coat can damage and tear the skin, providing a breeding ground for parasites. Matted fur traps moisture and urine, causing hot spots, mold, bacterial, and fungal infections.
Removing mats can be challenging. If the process is too painful for the pet, shaving may be required. We will not cause undue stress to your pet. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause clipper burn, nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to skin growths trapped in the mats. All attempts will be made to prevent this, but it may be unavoidable in extreme cases.
By reading this and booking your appointment, you acknowledge and agree to the procedure and any associated risks if your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting. An additional charge applies for this process as it is time-consuming and causes extra wear and tear on grooming equipment. A de-knotting fee, calculated per minute, will apply if the coat is knotty and requires extra time to brush out.
This release authorises us to take photos of your pet for their client profile and for our company website, Facebook, and Instagram pages. All photos taken are the property of Refined K-9 Mobile Dog Grooming Services. The owner is welcome to request copies of these photos, although it is not always possible to take photos.
We reserve the right to take the necessary time to groom each pet on a realistic schedule and will arrange an appropriate drop-off time with the owner individually at the time of pick-up, once we can see and feel the pet’s coat condition.
